By: Kenneth B. Shilson, CPA
Houston, Texas - June 28, 2004 - The National Alliance of Buy Here, Pay Here Dealers (NABD) today announced that is will hold a training conference in Houston, Texas on November 14-15, 2004. More than 500 attendees are expected to attend the two-day event, which will be focused on the most essential segment of buy here, pay here operations-COLLECTIONS.
Kenneth Shilson, CPA and founder of NABD indicated that an outstanding group of speakers, sponsors and collectors have been assembled for this show. “Although the program features two of the nation’s leading attorneys -Tom Hudson and bankruptcy specialist - Larry Young, the show will emphasize collections from an operator’s perspective. For example, one highlight of the show will be a two-hour collections panel featuring some of the nation’s best collectors, who will discuss best practices.” Shilson stated. “All parts of this program will provide attendees with an operating perspective on each topic.”
In addition to learning about important legal compliance and bankruptcy issues, attendees can network and interact with industry experts in an exhibit hall, which contains all the latest services, products and technology. The program also will feature a presentation by Chris Leedom on loss analysis techniques and will include some new credit benchmarks, which attendees can use to compare the performance of their own portfolios after the conference. Other highlights of the program are presentations covering how to increase recoveries, handling repos and bankruptcies, and using the latest technologies to increase profits and cash flow.
The conference will be held at The Wyndam Greenspoint Hotel in Houston, Texas, which is located near the airport to facilitate travel by attendees who live outside the Houston area. NABD has arranged some exceptionally favorable room rates and the Sunday/Monday format minimizes the time attendees must be away from their respective dealerships. The program will also include a Sunday evening networking reception and an “idea time” luncheon on Monday, November 15, 2004.
Those interested in registering may do so on-line at www.bhphinfo.com or by calling NABD headquarters at (713) 290-8171. Space is limited, so attendees and exhibitors who are interested in participating in this event are encouraged to respond immediately.
